Turn a MIDI File Into an MP3
MIDI files hold performance instructions, such as notes, timing, velocity, and track programs. An MP3 is an audio file. This converter renders the MIDI sequence into stereo audio in the browser, then encodes that audio as an MP3.
Use it when you have a MIDI arrangement but need a listening file to send, play, or keep with a project. The original MIDI stays useful for changing notes or instruments; the MP3 is one rendered audio mix.

Convert MIDI to MP3 in Three Steps
Choose a MIDI file, make one bitrate choice, then listen to the rendered result.
Load a MIDI File
Choose a .mid or .midi file, or drag it into the tool. The page reads the sequence and shows its file name, duration, active tracks, note count, and first tempo.
Choose MP3 Quality
Select 128, 192, or 320 kbps before conversion. The setting controls the MP3 encoder; it does not edit the notes in the MIDI file.
Preview and Download
Select Convert to MP3. When rendering is complete, use the preview controls to check the result, then download the generated MP3.
Check the MIDI Before You Convert
The file summary and render map give you a quick way to confirm that the sequence is the one you intended to convert.
Read File Details
Check the loaded file name and size, then review duration, non-empty tracks, note count, and the first tempo reported by the MIDI file.
View the Note Timeline
The render map shows the note positions across the sequence, helping you spot an unexpectedly empty or very dense MIDI file before converting it.
Keep the Original MIDI
The download is an audio file, not an editable MIDI arrangement. Keep the source MIDI when you may need to change the notes, program choices, or arrangement later.
Choose MP3 Quality
A higher bitrate creates a larger MP3 from the same browser render; it does not add notes or change the MIDI performance.

Read the MIDI Render Map
The Render Map sits beside the MIDI input controls. Before a file is loaded, it shows an empty timeline and a ready state, as shown here.
After the converter reads a MIDI file, the panel plots its note positions across the sequence. Use that view with the file summary to check the sequence before conversion.
Use MIDI to MP3 for Listening and Sharing
Convert a MIDI arrangement when the next person needs an audio file instead of editable note data.
Share a Composition
Render a MIDI sketch to an MP3 reference that a collaborator, teacher, or friend can play without opening a MIDI file.
Prepare Listening Material
Make an audio version of a notation exercise, accompaniment, or lesson example while keeping the editable MIDI alongside it.
Check an Older MIDI File
Listen to an archived sequence as an MP3 before deciding whether to reopen the source MIDI in a music editor.
Convert MIDI Locally in Your Browser
The selected MIDI file is parsed, rendered, previewed, and encoded in the current page. This implementation does not upload the MIDI file to a conversion server and does not require an account.
The tool accepts files under 5 MB with a maximum sequence duration of five minutes and up to 20,000 notes. It also includes a short built-in demo sequence for testing the converter.
MIDI to MP3 Converter FAQ
How does MIDI to MP3 conversion work?
A MIDI file stores musical note events rather than recorded audio. The converter reads the notes, timing, velocity, track programs, and percussion data, renders them in the browser, and encodes the stereo result as an MP3.
Which MIDI files can I convert?
The converter accepts Standard MIDI Files with .mid or .midi extensions. It checks that the file is readable, contains MIDI data, is under 5 MB, is no longer than five minutes, and has no more than 20,000 notes.
Can I choose the MP3 bitrate?
Yes. Choose 128, 192, or 320 kbps before rendering. Changing the selection after a conversion clears the previous output, so render again before downloading a new MP3.
Can I listen before downloading the MP3?
Yes. After rendering finishes, the page provides play, pause, and seek controls for the generated MP3. You can listen to that result before using Download MP3.
Is my MIDI file uploaded to a server?
No. The selected file is parsed, rendered, previewed, and encoded in the current browser page. This implementation does not send the MIDI file to a conversion server or require an account.
